Boy or Girl?

We find out tomorrow if we will be having a boy or girl!!! That's just crazy.
Things are going by so fast!
I seriously can't wait to tell Molly that she'll have a brother or sister.

This time around I thought it would be fun to test some of the ole' wives tales to see what might possibly be baking in my oven.

-They say if you are “carrying” high, it’s a girl, and low, it’s a boy.
I believe I am looking a bit low, which would indicate a BOY.

-If the baby’s heart rate is higher than 140 beats per minute, the baby is a girl.
Last time I heard baby's heart beat, it was at 160. So that would mean GIRL.

-If you crave salty foods, it’s a boy. If you want sweets, you’re having a girl.
I have enjoyed both salty and sweet foods, but I've been plowing through boxes and boxes of cereal so that would point towards a GIRL.

-The Chinese have this weird calendar that helps predict; you go off of your age and the month of conception.
Looks like the Chinese think that I am having a BOY.

-If your baby 'steals' your beauty, we're talking pimples, feeling super unattractive, then you're having a girl.
I have loved the fact that my skin has been more awesome than normal! Anyone remember my face when I was preggers with Molly!?! Ya, I looked like a 12 year old boy. It was one of the only things that I hated about that pregnancy. I'm so glad that things are different this time around. So, glowing skin would mean a BOY.

-If you're feeling sick as a dog during the first trimester -- or still? Signs indicate you're having a girl. Little or no morning sickness points to a boy.
I have seriously only thrown up a grand total of three times. It's been quite grand, and would mean it's a BOY.

-If you're shaving your legs way more often than normal, tale is you're expecting a boy. Something to do with testosterone.
I have hardly had to shave my legs, which has been awesome, so that would point towards a GIRL.

-If you prefer sleeping on your right side, you’re having a girl; left side, boy.
I've actually really wanted to sleep on my stomach and it's really bothering me that I can't. But it seems that the side I do choose the most is my left, so it'd be a BOY. Also, I wake up to a numb hip almost every morning; talk about super annoying.

-If your hands are always dry, it’s a boy. If they are smooth and soft, it’s a girl.
Mine have always been smooth and soft, and still are. So that would mean GIRL.

-They say if your hair has become thin and dull, it's a girl. If it's glossy and full-bodied it's a boy.
I feel like it has actually been more dull than normal! Since my skin has been great, I was kinda hoping that my hair would be too. So, looks like a GIRL.

Total- BOY: 5, GIRL: 5

So far people on FB and Instagram seem to think it's a boy.

What do you think we've having?!?

Here I am at 19 weeks! Almost half way; crazy!

This one was taken at 16 weeks. So, I grew a little since then. Also, note Molly's photo bomb; such a cuite bug.

The Teething War

I'll spare you my please help me yell, and just say that I absolutely, positively hate, no loath, teething. Molly has never done well with it, and even though I can see the end (literally I can see the top of it) we've hit an all time monster Molly low.
This last tooth has Molly chewing on her binky, which she has never cared for. She used it for just the first few months, and a little during her surgery, but other than that she hasn't cared for it. Well, now it is a necessity. If it comes out, out comes the side of my daughter that I try to love but really want to run away from. I'm getting stressed just thinking about it. She also needs constant companionship, whether it comes from me or her bears the girls gotta have it and the bink.
My house has become an embarrassing mess because of the need for constant snuggles and lack of sleep.
We've been keeping her gums numb, and doing a Tylenol/Motrin rotation and it helps but doesn't cure the beast.
And to think, when her two year molars come in we'll have a new baby. I just can't even go there right now.

In happier news, we are one week away from finding out baby's gender!!! We're so excited to see if Molly will have a little brother or sister. I have the serious itch to craft baby up something, but I only have one more week to wait.

Other than waiting to see what baby is, we've been busy running errands, eating, and swimming!!! Molly is such a cute lil' fishy. When I ask her if she wants to go swimming, she runs to her closet to get a swim diaper. It's hilarious. And she has to be the one to hold her tube. Heaven forbid I touch it.
Here's to a fun Summer!

I realized at the pool that our swimsuits kind of match, so cute!

Big Girl Bed!

A lot of people think 18  months is a little early to make the transition, but for us it felt like the right time, especially after a few crib escapes and one resulting in an ouchy.

I did a lot of reading on how to make the transition, and it happened to be that now was a good time. Come June we will try applying to buy a home, which could be a quick or slow process, but experts advise against making the switch during the move or even right before. Too much change for your toddler is stressful and overwhelming.
Then there was the issue of baby arriving this Fall. They say if another is on the way to give yourself about two months time transition.
So, with all that said, now felt right.

Her first night she only got out once, and last night she was so tired that she went straight to sleep! Nap time is very different. But I feel like nap time has always been like that for her. Hopefully she will get the hang of things sooner than later.

As for her adorable bed, I always pictured my little girl in a white iron bed. When i was a tween, I ripped out a picture from BH&G of a similar bed and have always loved it. I had been keeping an eye out for one since Molly's first escape and nothing ever came up.
Then my patience paid off and I was rewarded with exactly what I wanted, at half price retail and in perfect condition! Is it still cool to say "winning"!?! I was so happy, and it was local too.
Her bed will grow with her, and is a twin width which is awesome. I was finally able to put the quilt I made her on her bed and it is adorable!!!

And one more brag...

I found this gem in our dumpster! I have always wanted a wooden rocker like this for my nursery, and with baby on the way it is perfect. I'm not sure what color I want to paint it, as it all depends on the gender. Currently I'm thinking grey, yellow, or seafoam, so we'll see.

Speaking of little baby, I get to see it again tomorrow, and then in a few more weeks we'll know what 'it' is!

Guess I Better Blog

Wow, it has definitely been a long time since I have been on here.
So much has happened in the past few weeks, and I'd rather go to bed early than blog.
Here's what we've been up too...

So far this pregnancy has been pretty calm. Very different from Molly's, however, when I was pregnant with her I was jacked up on hormone pills so it's hard to compare the two as this time I am not on them.
My only complaint is that I'm tired all.the.time. and no amount of caffeine I'm currently allowed to have will save me. So, it's been early bed time and as much napping as I'm able to do.
Currently I am 14 weeks, so baby is the size of a cute little lemon. I was going to take a bump picture today, and totally spaced it. Oh, that's another thing. I am so super spacey. It's actually embarrassing how bad it is; I've put the remote in the spice cupboard, searched the house high and low for my phone which was in my back pocket the entire time, and much much more.
I haven't really had cravings like I did with Molly. If I think of a food, I'm okay to wait for it. The first time around I was like, I.need.it.now!!!
My maternity pants have already been worn. That didn't happen until I was past 20 weeks with Molly. I started showing really early and feel like I'm going to get huge, so that makes me cry occasionally.
I've got an appointment next week, and then the gender appointment in June!!

As for Molly bug, she just turned 18 months! She is seriously getting cuter by the day! She is such a chatty Cathy, and I love it. She recently started saying all these new words and it is so much fun to listen too. For her half birthday, we spoiled her with a new stuffy and her first coloring book and makers! She did pretty good keeping the marker on the paper and she loves to put the stickers on herself.
Molly has been discovering new foods, and she just can't seem to get enough otter-pops. I feel like I have the same problem.
She loves to play outside, and would be out there all day if I'd let her. I'm looking forward to our Summer adventures we'll have together.
Today was her 18 month appointment, and her stats are 25% for weight and 93% for height. Tall and skinny gal!

Steve is busy with work, as usual. It's been getting hot in our place so he is also a fan of the otter-pops. We have a system with them, and it's amazing; I eat the pink and blue, Steve the green and orange, so then Molly gets the red and grape. Haha, poor girl, but she loves them and everyone is happy.

I'm excited for Mother's Day. I missed my first one, as I was in England. (Can you believe it has been a year already!?! I kind of want to go back for another visit) Anyway, I can't wait to be here with my sweet baby this time around.

Hopefully I'll get my energy back soon. I've got a lot I've wanted to share. Until next time!

Appreciate the Now

I forgot to post this last week, and don't want to forget as it was a 'this never, ever happens' moment.
My sweet Molly girl is always, always, always on the go. She hardly ever sits still, unless it's to read her books, which is adorable. And if it's quiet, you better go find her because that means trouble.
On this day it had been Molly's laundry day, and I noticed her stuffies needed a wash. So I was sneaky to get them out of her room, and into the washer. Well, just as I had closed the door and hit the start button, Molly walked in the laundry room and saw through the glass her beloved Poe and Bear. She let out this terrible cry to help out her friends who looked like they were bring drowned. It was the saddest thing! She was crying and trying to open the door; I felt like the worst Mom!
Anyway, it seriously took almost a half hour to calm her down. I decided to go sit on the sofa and read her favorite books to her. While on the sofa, a feather had been poking me from my pillow, so I took it out. Molly was curious about it so I started stroking it across her face so gently. She LOVED it. I kept sweeping it across her cheeks and she closed her eyes like she was enjoying it. And she kept them closed, then I realized she had fallen asleep IN MY ARMS! I was totally shocked. My baby never ever does this. The last time was when she had surgery.
I absolutely loved that she had fallen asleep in my arms, and wanted to take a picture to document this momentous occasion. Well my phone was on the counter, and the laptop was seriously five inches out of my reach. I knew if I moved she would wake.
Studio 5 was on TV, and minutes after I was frustrated that I couldn't have my electronics, they did a segment on ' Appreciating the Now'. Turning off your electronics, and taking in what is going on in your life. It was just what I needed as my baby was sleeping in my arms. I looked down at her and couldn't believe how much she had grown, how beautiful she was, how long her eyelashes were, how she looked so comfortable in my arms. This could very possibly not happen again before baby #2 comes, and I'm so glad I didn't have my electronics to distract me from that. It was the best 45 minutes.
Molly is my best little girlfriend, and I need to appreciate the very short months we have left as just the two of us.
So now when we're playing and reading, the phone is on the counter or playing us some awesome dance songs.

I absolutely love this picture.
I was flossing my teeth, and Molly was curios about it. So I gave her some fresh floss and she decided to do it for me. It was the cutest thing!

Friends, Family, Fellow bloggers... We need your HELP!
Molly is entered in a contest to win a trip to DISNEYLAND!!!!
And we need your votes to help get us there.
This would be such an amazing way to celebrate her year of recovery and have a great trip together before baby #2 rocks her world. (Still nervous about that)

Molly is lucky #473! You can't miss that super cute face of hers!

You can vote once a day until April 18th.

I don't want this to overwhelm you, it's just questions I've had come up.

We would appreciate you taking time out of your busy day to help make this amazing opportunity happen for our sweet little girl!

Just picture Molly in a Belle dress eating a Mickey Mouse pretzel.
I would die of happiness!

Rumor Has It....

That baby #2 is on the way!!!
Yes, the rumors are true!
Thanks to my bloated, and expanding stomach we had to let the news out.
We are so excited, and I'll admit I am very nervous, for this new little babe to join our family.
It happens to be due on Molly's Birthday, 11-04-13! Isn't that crazy!? That was not planned.
I will more than likely be induced before it's due date, so we're looking at a possible October baby which I am thrilled about. Steve's birthday is in October and I would love to have a baby in his birth month, like I do mine. There's just something extra special about it. And Fall babies are the best!
When we found out, I taught Molly to say "baby" and she does it so cute.
Not going to lie, I am very nervous about how she will handle having another one around competing for my attention. Molly has clung to me so hard these past few months, and I'm hoping that once she is done teething, it will ease up... a lot!

Steve is so excited for this one, and has said he is less nervous now that he knows what to expect.
I know that he would love a little boy, but I am cool with whatever it may be!
I will say this though, if we have a girl she would save us a load of money on clothes since she and Molly are in the same season.
We will be able to find out the gender in June, which will come soon enough I'm sure.

This pregnancy is, once again, a high risk, so I get to see my Doctor and baby every four weeks. When I was pregnant with Molly, it seriously went by so fast and I believe it was because of all the appointments that kept me busy. So I'm hoping it will be the same with this one.
So far my symptoms are the same as the first time, but the fatigue is a killer. Molly is definitely giving me a run for my money right now, so I can't wait to get over being tired!

So there you have it, no April Fool's going on here!

First Hair Cut!

Today I gave Molly bug her first haircut! Well, it was a trim. I guess she did have half her head shaved once, but we won't count that.
She did great, probably because she had no idea that I was cutting her hair. I had her super distracted.
Now she doesn't have hair in her eyes and the curls are a little more under control.
I struggle with her curls. They only stay curly for a bit, and then go all crazy from there. It's got a mind of its one.
I couldn't get a picture of her afterwards, she wanted to play with her toys and was being wiggly. At least it wasn't like that during her trim!

Before. Crazy Albert Einstein hair!

It doesn't look like a lot, but it was still fun to do. She has such thin, whispy hair.

The Tantrum's

Molly has reached that age where's she's starting to throw tantrum's, and I'm kind of not used to them.
When my siblings and I were young, we NEVER ever threw tantrums. Nor did a lot of the kids I babysat.
I remember several years back and watching my niece throw one in public. She wanted to push the elevator button, but someone else got to it first. She came un-glued. Screaming, on the floor, kicking... All I could think was I hope that my kids never do that!
And here we are.
Sometimes I can't help but laugh, and other times I just have to sigh.
She throws one when it's time to go inside, after I've let her walk around outside.
She throws one when I take her out of the tub.
She throws one when I put on her diaper.
And don't ever take her toothbrush away from her. You will witness first hand a Diva Molly meltdown.

Anyway, I found this article on MSN today and it helped me understand why she's having these tantrums.
Hopefully this is helpful to someone else!

Also, today we paid off Molly's skull surgery bill!! It was a goal of mine to get it paid off by April, and we did it! I saved, saved, and saved money aside for this and now it's like a huge weight lifted off our shoulders.
When I first received the statements from all the doctors, I wanted to crawl in a hole and die. I know it said "this is not a bill", but it still freaks me out to think that maybe the lady at the insurance company told me wrong and I have to pay more than I thought!
Now we can close that chapter in our book and move on. She does have an appointment one year from her surgery, but I'm hopeful it will go well.

Here she is with her favorite toy toothbrush. Like I said, take it away and you'll get yourself a Diva.
At least she's keeping those little pearls clean!

Dog Walking

I found these photos on the computer and had to share.
They're so cute!
Molly loves to take Daisy by the leash and drag her around the house.
She is such a good puppy doggy for putting up with it!
Even if I would leave the leash on the floor, without Daisy attached to it, Molly would still drag it around the house.

I wish I could have Molly take Daisy on an actual walk, but that won't happen for a while. Even I have a hard time getting Daisy to calm down when we're outside.
She just loves it too much!

I love the last picture.
haha! Poor dog.

Some days I think it would be fun to get a big dog. Molly loves when their tales wag in her face.
It definitely would be funny to watch her try to walk an even bigger dog.
I don't think Steve would like having another dog around.
Can't disturb the peace with Princess Daisy!
